What is CommuniKey?

We believe that if you’re dedicated to supporting your local community, then you should be rewarded for it. CommuniKey members get just that. Deals and discounts at over 120 local businesses, notifications about flash deals, events, and more!

These deals are exclusive to CommuniKey members (because they’re awesome), and can be used as many times as you want. The upside in savings is humongous, and only costs $1.99/month.

How do I become a member?

You can purchase a CommuniKey membership by downloading our mobile app on the Apple Store or Google Play Store. Just create your account and subscribe, all through the app.

Who can become a CommuniKey member?

Becoming a member is as easy as downloading our app and creating your account. It will take less than 2 minutes.

How much is a CommuniKey membership?

A CommuniKey membership is only $1.99/month! Once you subscribe to be a member, you will be automatically be billed monthly. You can cancel whenever you want.

How do I cancel my membership?

Send an email to info@thecommunikey.com or binghamton@thecommunikey.com and just let us know why you are leaving and we’ll cancel your subscription!

My app tells me to update my CC information, now what?

This is happening because your subscription failed to pay. Go into the app settings and update your credit card information. After that, allow up to 24-48 hours for your subscription to renew. If you would like to expedite this process, email us at info@thecommunikey.com.

If you are still having problems after 48 hours, email us as well, and we’ll straighten it out right away!

How often can I redeem deals?

Whenever you want! The deals are always available, unless otherwise specifically stated on the businesses’ profile. We try to make every deal a 24/7 kind of thing.

How do I redeem a deal?

Once you are a member with the mobile app or physical card, redeeming a deal is very simple. Simply show the redeem screen or physical CommuniKey membership card to the person ringing you up or your server to receive the discount.

How much can I save with a membership?

That depends on how much you use it! However, we have had loyal members save hundreds over the course of the year. Since the deals are available whenever you want them, they easily start to add up. Flash-deals and Weekly Freebies also sweeten the deal by creating even more opportunities to explore your community and save.

What types of businesses offer CommuniKey deals?

Our goal is to find businesses that are relevant to everyone. CommuniKey has mechanics, hair salons, the B-Mets, screen-printing, yoga studios, gyms, insurance brokers, retail, theaters, tanning salons, liquor stores, tons and tons of restaurants/local eateries and more. We are adding more businesses each month, and it is our goal to provide you with a deal/discount for any aspect of your life!

What type of deals do I get?

In general, most businesses, including restaurants, offer a flat 10-25% off. Some offer free appetizers or item with your purchase, while our specialty businesses can get more specific with their deals. Remember, you can use these deals as much as you want!  We also offer specific daily deals for every day of the week, give out free items every week and have our businesses offer flash-deals to members regularly.

What is the weekly freebie?

The weekly freebie is a special perk for CommuniKey members only. We give out a limited amount of a free items every week (usually a free meal). All you have to do is get there early and show the weekly freebie coupon with your CommmuniKey. No strings attached.

What types of events do you host?

We host a variety of events, ranging from pizza parties, to open bars, to eating contests, to our Student Kick-Off where we invite our businesses to give out free samples. CommuniKey members get extra perks for showing up to events!

Why did you switch to a mobile app?

We switched to a mobile app because it solved a few important problems, and added a lot of functionality for CommuniKey members. One of the biggest issues solved by the app is now having all of the CommuniKey deals in your pocket, making it much easier to know which businesses accept CommuniKey. We also plan on adding lots of new features down the road to make the app truly amazing.
